With so many galaxies gravitationally bound to eac With so many galaxies gravitationally bound to each other as we find them in clusters, it doesn’t come as a surprise that every now and then, they will interact with each other. Learn more about the different interactions and their implications over the next few weeks!

Transporting our prototype is never the easiest of Transporting our prototype is never the easiest of tasks... but at least when carrying it, you get to see the sheer size of it!

Here, AE Vienna members Tobi and Linda are bringing the Tumbleweed into the RFA climatic wind tunnel to test the prototype's minimum drag. Stay tuned to see more!

Fingers crossed that we'll be able to get back together again soon!

After taking deep dives into the mysteries of the universe, we wanted to catch a breath of fresh air in our own solar system. Swipe to see all these planets’ ring systems!

Even though he's been a part of Team Tumbleweed fo Even though he's been a part of Team Tumbleweed for quite some time now, today marks his first appearance on our Instagram: Everyone say hi to Mathis!

Mathis' expertise comes from somewhat of a different background than most other team members': Having never attended university or received his high school diploma, Mathis is entirely self-taught.
As a part of Team Tumbleweed's Software team, he mainly works on writing software for the Tumbleweeds and the surrounding prototyping. Outside of the team, Mathis' job as a machine learning engineer at a recruitment company requires him to do Natural Language Processing .

As his favorite quote, Mathis cites the Wu-Tang Clan: "Gotta get up and be somebody" - great words to get this year started!

Most of you probably know by now how we plan on ge Most of you probably know by now how we plan on getting the Tumbleweed rovers to Mars... but how do we get the huge amounts of scientific data back to Earth?

This animation made by Electrical Development team lead Felix shows planet Mars rotating around its axis with three Tumbleweeds on the surface, as well as three communication relay satellites orbiting the planet. Note how after one full rotation, the Tumbleweeds do not return to the exact same point!
Our engineers use simulations like these to optimize the communication architecture of the Tumbleweed mission and determine the amount of data that can be sent down to Earth.

Do you have questions on this topic? Let us know in the comments!
